giddyup.
friday night i went to north attleboro (i know) to hang out with ms. kristal and some of her people. i met the boy in her top twelve who shows his butt on his main picture and don't pretend you don't know what i'm talking about, OK!? we (kristal and i) talked halloween and work and blah blah. it was a fun night. a guy outside told me i looked like "the girl from that movie where one girl was mean and the other one was hot?" mm, thanks. actually it was a nice change from "save the last dance girl." how come i never get "that girl from mona lisa smile" or "the chick that was in the omen remake" or hamlet or o or the bourne movies? wierd.
saturday night i went to a pot luck dinner party in lowell with anne and some risd people. i arrived late, broke a bookcase, killed a plant, tried reisling for the first time (no) and had to leave early and didn't get to try any of anne's vegan pecan pie. sorry, anna. i had to make my way south to meet laurie and the gallaghers et al to see the zoo at the harp. the show was good, the bar was fun, and my roommate didn't punch anyone in the face. she did stomp my toe though, which was already very sore from standing outside in line for an hour and a half (seriously). i'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but i'd already paid to park so what else was i supposed to do for the evening? so i leaned against the wall, played a few rounds of tetris and listened to the guy behind me in line talk about how he went to the vicous circle show and high-fived "dane", knocking over his girlfriend in the process. yeah, that's the whole story, why it took twenty minutes to tell? the world may never know. inside, as i said, the band was great--they're coming back to the harp and boston billiards at the end of october and we, us, you, i should go. but go EARLY. seriously. or bring several different colored sharpies with you 'cause their stamp is two tone.
sunday i finished one christmas present via knitoholism (yay!)... bind-off, check!! thank you, vicki, for linking me to knittinghelp.com--you cannot imagine how many times i've tried to bind-off and i was just NOT getting it, until i watched the video and **blink** "oooooooooooooh!" knitting is so tricky to explain in words sometimes! i also started this (third down) for kelly (she never reads this blog--she's got more important things to do, like raise angel babies) and even though my needles are WAY too short to be kitting 45 stitches on, i am SO excited about how this is going to come out. if it works, i may make one for my boss, i think she'd like it.
while i'm ahead of the game for christmas, halloween has got me stumped! i've psyched myself out, i think, and now i have no idea what to be! kristal told me what she's being and i am totally jealous, and likewise with anne. i've had some good couple ideas for dux and ering, and 'cause (un)fortunately(?) i am not in a couple none of them work for me. i'll find SOMETHING, i suppose. eventually. PARTY!
p.s. also, congratulations to the new mr. and mrs. hontvet who got married on saturday at st. francis. lucky me, i happened to be happening out of cvs in s btree square right when the bridal party exited the church! erin looked beautiful and happy (and she had a lovely day for it)! congrats to everyone involved, best wishes and good luck. ;)
